Preamble

Kolpona Protibondhi Unnayan Songstha is an Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPD) working in the Rajshahi district of Bangladesh. The organization was established on 06-02-2006 and started involving 21 persons with disabilities with support from their own initiatives. Now, the organization has a total of 480 members, among them 230 male and 250 female. The organization implements its activities, ensuring the equal participation of men and women with disabilities.

According to the organization's bylaws, there are 50 members in its General Committee, and seven members are in the Executive Committee. The staff and volunteers implement the organizational activities following the directives of the General Secretary/ Executive Director. Through the direct involvement of men and women with disabilities, the organization is working to promote the rights of persons with disabilities and improve their lives with support from government and non-government organizations.

Besides, the organization strives to partner with mainstreaming organizations for Disability Inclusion in their programs by ensuring the active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities and providing capacity-building and technical assistance.
